Introduction
What is Information & Communications Technology?

Information & Communications Technology (ICT) is the convergence of Information Technology, Telecommunications and Data Networking Technologies into a single technology. It is a broad subject concerned with technology and other aspects of managing and processing information. IT covers a multitude of different jobs in processing, analysing, storing and conveying information, whether that means working on the internet or on systems for guiding rockets. Graduates with work experience and strong technical skills will be snapped up first. Jobs in these areas remain a significant feature of graduate recruitment, and the long-term outlook is positive in global terms. There is growth in e-commerce, mobile Telecommunications, networking and digital media, and the use of databases.
